Born in 1980 VJ Keegan grew up in the Lake District and is now based in London.
Following a foundation year in the conceptual melting pot at Central St Martins, VJ went in pursuit of more traditional drawing techniques.
Aged 19 she moved to Florence to study old master techniques, taking influences from Ribera, Van Dyck, Velasquez and Singer Sargent and learning to paint solely from life and nature.
On her return to London she specialised in portrait painting before turning her attention to still-life paintings which have since been the leading inspiration in her work and much admired.
VJ Keegan has increasingly earned a reputation for her beautifully studied, fluid painting style and has exhibited at the Sladmore Gallery in London and Summerleaze Gallery in Wiltshire.
We are delighted to be showing a new collection of work at the Affordable Art Fair, Battersea in March 2016.
